Clean fossil fuel heat and power plants
ZENG
Nebb Engineering is working on various concepts of carbon dioxide capture. In depth knowledge of the power production
processes are necessary for designing an optimal cycle for production of electricity and capture of carbon dioxide.
ZENG - "Zero Emission Norwegian Gas"
The project's main goal is designing a 50-250 MW electrical gas power generation plant with carbon dioxide capture.
Nebb Engineering is participating in the project as process experts. Our mission is combining theory with engineering
experience thus developing a process design that maximizes the power generation output.
The following subjects are important for developing an economic healthy process:
- Understand the thermodynamics of the working medium; a mixture of water and carbon dioxide.
- Construct a combined separator and condenser/steam generator for effective heat transfer and separation of water and carbon dioxide.
- Utilize waste heat streams to maximize power generation.
- Designing the process with off-the-shelf equipment.
- Identify opportunities and constraints in close collaboration with suppliers regarding the power generating turbines.
- Maximum heat and pressure.
- Different working media.
- Recuperative turbines/steam turbines.
- Quality of captured carbon dioxide, ready for delivery.
- Pressure.
- Moisture content.
- Temperature.
